Jani Aliaj was randomly arrested on the morning of December 31 in Athens.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Albanian justice system for the revenge murder of Elton Çiço, an event that occurred on May 1, 2016 in the former Blloku area of Tirana.

During the check of his data in the electronic system that the Greek police carried with him, it turned out that he was carrying a false Greek identity card, with the name Aleksan Kreshnik, born in 1976, and for this reason he was accompanied to the Moskato police station for further investigations.

Further verification in the system revealed that he had escaped from Corfu prison on June 1, 2015, violating his regular 11-day leave.

In prison, he was serving a life sentence for the murder of an Albanian citizen, serious injury, and illegal possession of a weapon, for events that occurred in 2006 in Athens.

It also emerged that this citizen was wanted internationally for two murder cases, which occurred in Albania in October 2015 and May 2016./Top Channel
