This is the tragic moment when Tirana Appeals Judge Astrit Kalaja leaves his office for the last time, where he was macabrely shot with a firearm, in one of the most serious criminal incidents against the black platoons.

Judge Kalaja is taken out on a stretcher by the medical staff of the Tirana Emergency Room, in critical condition.

He was shot in the courtroom by 30-year-old Elvis Shkambi, immediately after a verdict was rendered against him in a property case.

Kalaja was hit by three bullets, at least one of which hit him in the chest. He died on the way to the hospital.
