"Pay 2 million lekë because I am in danger," was Edvar Agalliu 's phone call to his wife, who raised the alarm about his kidnapping, an event that occurred on April 30, 2025 in Tirana.

After the phone call, the kidnapped man's sister filed a police report for the kidnapping of her brother by three people,  Sulejman Sina, Idajet Mashollari and Kinton Sina , with the help of  Nikoleta Begolli .

Planning the kidnapping

Edvar Agalliu was near the Tirana Pedagogical School in the company of Nikoleta Begolli, also Sulejman Sinën's cohabitant, when the three young men arrived at the scene in a black Golf vehicle.

They approached the 68-year-old man and forced him into the vehicle, where they also placed a hood over his head.

Then, they took him to another, distant place and after putting him in an old apartment, they tied his hands and demanded the sum of 2 million lek, claiming that Edvar Agalliu had harassed Nikoleta Begolli.

The three accused communicated by phone with the kidnapper's wife, a citizen with the initials MA, who sent the suspects the amount of money.

The four defendants are said to have threatened Edvar Agalliu, telling him that if the payment was not made, they would send photos of him and Nikoleta Begolli to his wife, to destroy his family, and then kill him.

The Tirana Prosecution Office has sent the defendants, Sulejman Sina, Idajet Mashollari and Kinton Sina, as well as Nikoleta Begolli, to trial, after she is accused of being the girl who trapped Edvar Agalliu.

They kidnapped a person with the intention of obtaining wealth, the Tirana Prosecution Office is sending 4 people to trial, including the girl who trapped him.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, completed the investigations and sent to trial four citizens SS, IM, KS, and NB for the criminal offense of 'Kidnapping or holding a person hostage' provided for by article 109/25 of the Criminal Code.

The investigations into criminal proceedings no. 2978, registered on 30.04.2025, began after the complaint of citizen AV, who reported that her brother, citizen EV, had called his wife and asked her to pay 2 million lek as soon as possible because his life was in danger and only then could he return home.

The investigations revealed that citizens SS, NB, IM and KS planned the kidnapping of citizen EA and carried it out with the aim of obtaining wealth. The investigations proved that near the Tirana Pedagogical School, at the moment when citizen EV was with citizen NB, they approached a black Golf-type vehicle and forcibly put her in the vehicle, where they also put a hood over her head, and took her to another, distant location.

After taking him to an old apartment, they tied his hands and demanded the sum of 2 million lekë, claiming that citizen E. A had harassed citizen NB (the cohabitant of citizen SS). The three suspects then communicated by phone with the wife of the injured party/victim, citizen MA, who sent the suspects the sum of money.

These four people threatened citizen EA, telling him that if the payment was not made, they would send him photos of him and citizen NB, his wife, to destroy his family and then kill him.

At the conclusion of the investigations, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, proved that citizens SS, NB, IM and KS have committed the criminal offense of 'Kidnapping or holding a person hostage' provided for by Article 109/25 of the Criminal Code, which provides that; kidnapping or holding a person hostage with the aim of acquiring property or any other type of benefit, to prepare the creation of mitigating conditions for the commission of a crime, to assist in the concealment or removal of the perpetrators or collaborators in the commission of a crime, to avoid punishment, to force the fulfillment of certain requests or conditions, for political purposes or any other purpose, is punishable by imprisonment from ten to twenty years.
