11 murderers, including Koci Selamaj , sentenced to 36 years in prison for the murder of teacher Sabina in Greenwich , South East London , in September 2021, will be among the first to arrive in Albania. British prisons house more than 1,330 Albanians, the largest group of foreigners behind bars.
A deal speeding up the release of prisoners will be signed within weeks after officials from the UK's Ministry of Justice and Prison Service visited Albania in March.
This paved the way for faster prisoner transfers in exchange for modernizing prisons and providing a fleet of prison vehicles.
A source from the Albanian prison service has said: The United Kingdom team visited all our prisons in Peqin , Lezhë , Fushë Krujë and Drenovë in the city of Korça, writes The Sun.
They had a clear order from the English ministers to help us without delay. They will help us modernize prison management and improve security and logistics.
