From work on holidays to lack of insurance, the Labor Inspectorate reveals the

Over 600 complaints have been filed with the Labor Inspectorate by employees dissatisfied with their treatment at work during the past year. 

Referring to the official report of this institution, the highest number of complaints filed results from employees working in entities that conduct economic activity in the Tirana region, this also due to the high concentration of businesses in this region.

And the biggest problem is noticed in the manufacturing enterprises with 150 inspections in which 66 informal employees were found and in the hotel-bar trade with 132 complaints where 35 informal employees were found.

But what do employees in Albania complain about the most? The report states that 32.7% of the reason for the denunciation is related to the violation of labor relations which includes, non-payment for work performed on public holidays, for work performed in overtime, payment not through the banking system and not concluding an employment contract.

14.3% of the reason for the denunciation is related to non-payment of arrears. 8.9% of the reason for the denunciation is related to non-payment of the social and health insurance contribution.

In all cases where it has been found as a violation, the subject has been transferred from case to case for jurisdiction taxes as a competent body for their collection by force. 2.95% of the reason for the denunciation is related to illegal employment, ie informal employment.

1.8% of the reason for the denunciation is related to termination of employment; 1.4% of complaints are related to not notifying the accident at work, 3.5% of the reason for denunciation is related to unsafe working conditions;

3.9% of the reason for the denunciation is related to non-payment of medical reports which have been resolved and in cases when they were within the competence of the SSI is delegated for competence and 0.4% of the reason for the denunciation is related to unequal treatment in the workplace and discrimination.
