The police have arrested a 51-year-old man after he hid over 680,000 euros in the modified doors of the Benz to bring them illegally into Albania.

Lefter Nelaj, a resident of Fushë Milot, was arrested, while it is suspected that the money seized in the car comes from crime.

He was caught by the Muriqan Border Police at the entrance to Albania.

"From the controls on the second line, in the vehicle driven by this citizen, 680,595 euros were found in 2 modified spaces in the rear doors, which this citizen intended to bring illegally into Albania. Investigations continue to prove the source of the money," the blue uniforms reported.

Police notification:

The coded police operation "Burimi" is finalized.

680,595 euros suspected to be derived from crime are seized.

Hide the money, in the modified doors of the vehicle he was driving, in order to bring it illegally into Albania, the 51-year-old is arrested.

The amount of euros, the "Benz" type vehicle and 2 mobile phones were seized.

As a result of the immediate administration of the information provided by the General Directorate of the State Police, the services of the Border Police of PKK Muriqan, in cooperation with the services of the Local Police Directorate of Shkodër, finalized the coded police operation "The Source".

During the operation, the citizen LN, 51 years old, resident of Fushë Milot, was caught at the entrance to Albania and arrested.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Shkodra General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
