The State Police has reacted after the denunciation of the General Secretary of the Municipality of Vau i Deja, Mark Zhuri, that the head of the police station, Bardhyl Saliu, supports traffickers for planting cannabis plots in that area and is paid up to 4 thousand euros from them.

Through an official communiqué on the matter, the Police informs that they have become aware of these claims by Mark Zhuri a few months ago and have carried out checks in the places where he claimed that narcotic plants were cultivated, but from the verifications carried out in the field, they have not been found cultivated narcotic plants.

The statement also states that regarding these accusations, the head of the Vau i Deja Police Station, Commissioner Bardhyl Saliu, on September 9, filed a report with the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër District Court, which registered a criminal proceeding.

Regarding a statement given to the media by the General Secretary of the municipality of Vau i Deja, Mr. Mark Zhuri, who has accused the head of the Vau i Deja Police Station of allowing the cultivation of cannabis in exchange for monetary gain, we clarify the public opinion that:

The State Police and the Police Supervision Agency are familiar with the claims of Mr. Mark Zhuri, a few months ago. Joint working groups between the State Police and the Police Supervision Agency have been set up to verify these claims.

In the framework of the operational plan for the prevention and suppression of the cultivation of narcotic plants, the joint groups of the Police and the AMP have verified on the ground all the information received from Mr. Zhuri, for places in which he claimed that narcotic plants were cultivated, but from the verifications carried out in these places in the field, no cultivated narcotic plants were found.

We emphasize that Mr. Mark Zhuri has continued his accusations on social networks, with posts and comments to dismiss the head of the Vau i Deja Police Commissariat, claiming that he is corrupt and connected to the criminal activity of cannabis cultivation.

In relation to these accusations, the head of the Vau i Deja Police Station, Commissioner Bardhyl Saliu, on September 9, 2022, filed a report with the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër Judicial District Court, which registered a criminal proceeding.

The State Police is ready to welcome Mr. Zhuri and anyone who has information about the involvement of Police officers in criminal activity or their abuse of duty, guaranteeing immediate verification of the information, legal and impartial response in any case when the information turns out to be true.
