Several fires were lit this evening in at least three villages of Vlora.

The Ministry of Defense says the number of fires is "considerable", but does not report any damage. Some local social media claim that apartments were also burned by these fires.

Notification:

Tonight, between 20:15 and 22:15, a significant number of fires appeared in the villages of Dukat, Drašovica and Vajza.
After the rapid response of the civil emergencies of Vlora, the fire in the village of Dukat i Ri has been completely isolated, avoiding the deterioration of the situation and the danger to residential areas.

Meanwhile, the 3 hearths that appeared simultaneously at the heights of the Drašovica stans and the 2 hearths that appeared in the last hour in Vajza remain active.
Local fire brigades and the Armed Forces are on the ground in these two villages, creating security perimeters.

The typology and chronology of these fires create a reasonable conviction that we are dealing not only with deliberate arson, but with a structured criminal group operating in this area, whose members have chosen to operate at night, when aerial intervention is impossible.

Operational forces will remain engaged in the field throughout the night, to secure citizens' homes and properties.
