Tirana police have not yet been able to shed light on the mysterious loss of contact with the family of Daniel Shima, former Deputy Director General of the National Agency for Information Society.
On Wednesday, the 34-year-old's mother reported to police station no. 1 that she had lost contact with her son. The report was made after Shima's mother was informed by her son's partner and lawyer that he had sent her a message with the text "they are arresting me."
After the family members verified that the former senior AKSH official had not been arrested for any criminal offense, they reported the loss of contacts. The verifications revealed that Shima got into his car in the student city where he was filmed by security cameras and followed to the exit of the Tirana-Elbasan road tunnel.
After ten hours, when police seized dozens of security cameras and questioned people who might have knowledge, Daniel Shima returned and said he had left willingly, after a conflict with his partner.
But he did not give any explanation as to where he stayed during those 10 hours, who the people he met were, why he traveled to Elbasan, and most importantly, why he wrote a message to his partner saying that they were arresting him./ BalkanWeb
