Helping immigrants illegally leave Albania for other countries, 24-year-old

A 24-year-old Moroccan citizen has been arrested by the Border and Migration Directorate in Korça, after he was caught attempting to help three other citizens illegally cross the border from Albania to other countries.

Police sources indicate that the 24-year-old had planned to help three illegal immigrants cross the border illegally.

During the intervention by border structures, the person was detained and arrested in flagrante delicto, while the other three citizens were captured and are being sent to Greece.

Investigations into this case are ongoing, and the 24-year-old will face charges of "aiding illegal border crossing."

The border police have intensified controls along the entire border line and at crossing points in order to prevent similar cases.

Authorities emphasize that cases of assistance for illegal border crossing are often carried out by the migrants themselves, becoming a worrying phenomenon.
