The residents of Memaliaj have once again come out in protest against the new territorial division project, which envisages the merger of the Municipality of Memaliaj with the Municipality of Tepelena.
This is the second protest in a row organized by citizens, who speak out against the proposed changes and demand that Memaliaj maintain its status as a separate local unit.
Protesters state that merging with Tepelena will harm the representation and development of the area, while calling on the government to reconsider the territorial division project.
Residents have warned that protests will continue in the coming days if their demands are not taken into consideration.
The citizens of Rrogozhina have also gathered in the City Park to protest against the proposed changes in territorial division, opposing the possibility of the Municipality of Rrogozhina merging with the Municipality of Kavaja.
With banners and chants of "Rrogozhina is ours," the protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the project, demanding that the municipality maintain its administrative status and identity.
During the protest, citizens called on government representatives to visit Rrogozhina and listen closely to the residents' concerns.
According to them, the Municipality of Kavaja faces its own problems and cannot simultaneously meet the needs of Rrogozhina.
The protesters demanded the cancellation of the draft law on territorial division, emphasizing that Rrogozhina should remain a separate municipality, with its own representation and administration.
They warned that protests will continue if their demands are not taken into consideration by the authorities.
