"Don't go out because you get infected", as Gjergj Laçi

Xerxh (Gjergj) Laçi kept his family confined in the capital under the pretense that if they go out they will be infected. The 52-year-old man, arrested and accused of violence against his family, which he kept locked up for 6 years, lived for some time in Italy and then returned to Tirana, where he lived in a miserable condition with his two sons 15 and 17 years old.

Laçi and the woman's brother were the ones who bought food for the family, making sure that no one left the apartment, which is located at the end of the street '5 Maji'. In the house, there was no water, no electricity, no television and the windows were always closed.

"You can't go out because you might get infected", were the words of the 52-year-old man to his wife and two sons, whom he threatened with cold weapons and psychological terror.

According to the witnesses, Laçi only went out for Friday prayers, but for 6 months he did not even leave the apartment by himself. The two children have not left the house for a year, while the woman had been locked up for 6 years.

The anti-terrorist had information that he had radical tendencies, but after the boys stopped going out, the residents notified the police. The 52-year-old man was arrested, while the wife and children were sent to a rehabilitation center.
