Unlike other times, the protest by the residents of Bërxulla also involved clashes with police officers.
They say that the company Gener2, which has won the project with a concession for 35 years, in violation of the law, has started work on the ground without having a construction permit.
Residents claim that they have not received any notification regarding the project, nor about the expropriations.
A resident is heard to have said: I will burn with gasoline, don't touch me!
Clashing with the police, the revolted residents are heard reacting harshly to the policemen.
"We have no objection to the project, but at least we get our right. The project has been diverted many times. Don't sell yourself for 50 thousand lek, man of the earth. I have not been informed about where the project is going. No documented document has arrived," said one of the residents.
He added that he will defend his right as he has worked for years in the curves and he cannot stand idly by in the face of injustice.
"This will get bigger, that conversation is known. We have to defend our right, I worked for 15 years on the curves and it breaks in an hour", they add.
This situation was accompanied by tensions and physical confrontations between residents and the Police. The latter is placed there to hinder the citizens, while they are asked not to block the road and the works.
"We are running out of patience. Come sit with us. I feel sorry for you, that you are used in such protests. Why do you support an illegal", emphasized another protester.
Outraged, a protester in Bëxulë called on the state to find a solution for the road project that affects their homes.
'The way we are here 9 million and 20-0 was given 16 years ago. I have 3 dynams of land and another 5 I don't know if I will have a way to access that land.
No one has come to ask us, we are not going out for fun. Now they go door-to-door propaganda and give money to the lawyers under their hand. Thieving firm and the thieving state, along with Deputy Prime Minister Balluku. Where is the state? What is the state for, only for trips abroad? Until the last day, I will protect my house with blood. That I leave the protest for a day. The police don't come in front of us, we will stay on the street.'- said the protester.
