The World Health Organization has raised the alarm after identifying an unknown and severe type of hepatitis in more than 11 countries around the world.
Originally spread in the UK, the virus quickly gained ground as more than 200 children were infected and at least one of them died of the mysterious disease.
Cases of this acute type of this mysterious hepatitis that affects the liver and leads to its complete dysfunction have been found in 12 states and 200 cases have been contracted where 17 of them have undergone surgery.
Invited to the show "Live with the hour" pediatrician Sonila Brati told us that it has become a very big concern as this type of hepatitis leads to airway blockage. Another cause is Covid-19, but it has not been fully proven. The most identified age group are children from 0 to 16 years old. The largest number of those affected is female, translated as 65% of the total number.
The signs that have been transmitted to these age groups are mainly cough, fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, yellowing of the face, etc.
The doctor advises parents that if the child shows such signs they should immediately consult a doctor for proper examinations. The current situation in our country is calm as so far no case has resulted, but again parents should go to the doctor for various checks.
Regarding the period in which we are currently, there are many viruses that are affecting children, starting from tonsillitis, bronchitis, chickenpox, seasonal allergies, etc.
