The Belgian media continue to follow the case of cars where 3.4 million euros were discovered in the Port of Durrës. This is because the Belgian authorities landed in Tirana as part of the investigations
Although four years have passed, the scandal with 3.4 million euros in cash, brought to Albania from Belgium with the "Toyota Yaris" continues to be unsolved and shrouded in mystery. The investigations are spread between two countries, Albania and Belgium.
Recently, the Belgian media have recently reported that in order to discover the truth, Belgium has done extensive research, in both countries.
"Belgian investigators traveled to Albania at the beginning of this year, to collect evidence, but also to question witnesses. One of them was the first informant. It is about Lulzim Basha, former foreign minister of Albania and former leader of the democratic opposition.
The case began about four years ago, when a Belgian put his "Toyota" on a website. He contacted a buyer over the Internet. Two Albanians have been presented, to whom the Belgian sold the "Toyota" car, the Belgian media writes today, which also publishes the photo of the Albanian businessman, Alban Mollaymeri, who turns out to be the person who bought the "Toyota Yaris" in Belgium.
While further describing the flow of events in Albania, the Belgian media raises the question " Where did the money come from? " ", while explaining with a map the entire route that the car followed from Belgium to Albania.

"The car ended up in a trailer in Brussels, along with other Toyotas. In Liege, the transport received another Alfa Romeo. After passing through Germany, the transport continued to Italy and from there, by ship, it arrived in the port city of Durrës, in Albania.
"Four people were arrested: the driver, the owner of the transport company, his son and the owner of the means of transport. They all said they knew nothing about the large amount of money, and have since been released for a long time. "We just transported those cars," it read. A sales agreement would exist for the Toyota in question. But where did the money come from?', writes the Belgian media, while also adding the politicians involved.
"In our country, the seller of Toyota Yaris has been identified and interrogated. And so the Albanian politician Lulzim Basha was questioned. A few days before the money was found, he publicly announced that a large amount of money was heading to Albania.
He accused the socialist Taulant Balla of having guaranteed a " safe transfer " of drug money to a gang. Taulant Balla has always rejected these accusations as defamation", the article states.
