A 27-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted after making a false report about the theft of his vehicle worth 60,000 euros, in order to receive compensation of the same value.

The young man with the initials K. Ç., resident in Italy, had reported that his "Range Rover" with Italian license plates had been stolen. But the luxury car was found hidden in a garage in Tirana.

"Based on the footage provided, it turned out that the citizen K. Ç. had made a false report about the theft of his vehicle, in order to benefit from compensation in the amount of 60,000 euros, from the vehicle insurance company", the blue uniforms reported.

Following the actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings for the 27-year-old man were initiated, while the "Range Rover" type vehicle was seized as material evidence.

The investigative structures of the Vlora Police Station, immediately after receiving the report from the citizen K. Ç., resident in Italy, that his "Range Rover" type vehicle with Italian license plates, worth 60,000 euros, was stolen in Zvrnec, organized the work for clarifying this case.

From the investigative actions, based on the obtained footage, it turned out that the citizen K. Ç. had made a false report about the theft of his vehicle, in order to benefit from compensation in the amount of 60,000 euros, from the vehicle insurance company.

Following the actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in free status for the citizen K. Ç., 27 years old, resident in Italy.

As a result of checks carried out in cooperation with Police Station No. 4, the "Range Rover" type vehicle was found hidden in a garage in Tirana, which was seized as material evidence.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
