The Deputy Mayor of Tirana, Anuela Ristani, clashed sharply with the majority councilors during the last meeting of the Municipal Council, openly challenging the representatives of the Socialist Party.
At the height of the debates on the problems of cleaning up the city and demands for more accountability from local leaders, Ristani debated with socialist councilors.
"Fire me, I'll be fine," she is said to have declared during the discussions, at a moment of high tension in the hall.
The strongest clashes have been with councilor Halit Valteri from the SP and Krenar Canollari from the PSD, who demanded more responsibility for the cleaning situation and the management of the city.
