Murder of Greek mafia "Thamnakias" / Court leaves 3 of the arrested
Giorgos Moschouris, known by the nickname "Thamnakias"

The Greek court has remanded in prison three of the suspects accused of the execution of one of the leaders of the criminal world in the neighboring country, Giorgos Moschouris , known by the nickname " Thamnakias ".

There are also 2 Albanians in the group of those arrested , while in total at least 6 people are involved.

Described as a " mafia ", the Greek fell dead from gunfire with a Kalashnikov on a main street in Chalandri, in April 2025, outside a medical center.

The defendants have been charged, case by case, with nine felonies and six misdemeanors.

During their lengthy statements, they denied any involvement in the criminal organization attributed to them.

According to information, one of the defendants claimed to investigators that the fingerprints on his mobile phone prove that he was in another location at the time of the murder, while he allegedly stated that he did not know his co-defendants.

"I deny the charges. I have no connection to the other defendants, nor do I know them. I am not in any video and from my cellphone trace it appears I was somewhere else. I am not the one you are looking for," the 48-year-old is reported to have stated.

The assassination is suspected to have been ordered by one of " Thamnakia's " opponents, and investigations are still active by the Greek prosecution.

Two of the suspects had been arrested in previous operations and were in prison.
