All of Europe, but especially the eastern part and our Balkan region, has been engulfed by an African heat wave that has brought extremely high temperatures.
In some places, the thermometer has recorded up to 46 degrees Celsius, and 42 degrees Celsius in Albania.
Hot days are expected to continue this week, with Thursday and Friday expected to peak. During these days, the thermometer will reach 42 and 43 degrees Celsius in some regions.
Experts advise to avoid physical activity in nature, to consume a lot of fruit and to hydrate with drinks rich in mineral salts.
During the weekend, an Atlantic turbulence will reach the European continent, bringing strong storms and a drop in temperatures between Sunday and Monday mainly in Central Europe. This reduction should gradually spread to the rest of Europe, including the Balkans.
However, temperatures on Monday, July 22 will remain high, up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Therefore, it is likely that the intense heat will continue to be felt at least until the middle of next week.
