The 54-year-old Albanian Jani Zoto , who was accused of stabbing 43-year-old Aciu Flopjca-Aurica, has recently spoken to the Greek media Protothema.gr.
He stayed in prison for 3 years, he said: " no one believed that I was innocent, they put me in prison unjustly ".
"After all, there is a God. God had mercy on me and helped me to discover the truth. Indeed, I can now say that I feel vindicated after much suffering. No one believed that I was innocent. Everyone thought I killed him and they put me in prison unjustly," said Zoto.
Zoto also confessed about the 3 years he spent in prison. He said " I went to prison when I was innocent and I cried but no one listened to me. They were the most difficult years of my life, there is nothing crueler than being called a murderer without committing any crime ."
"I spent three years of my life in prison when I was innocent and cried but no one listened to me. They were the most difficult years of my life. There is nothing more cruel than being called a murderer without committing any crime. I felt that my honor and dignity were being destroyed and there was nothing I could do. "My children were upset when they heard that their father was a murderer," said Zoto.
He also added: " This woman was my friend, I lived with her and I could not harm anyone. I want to move on with my life and leave behind this nightmare that will mark me forever ."
According to the discovery of the "Demokratiki" newspaper, a Pakistani arrested last July in Germany for shoplifting is the author of the 43-year-old's murder. The discovery was made from his palm prints, where he then followed in the confession of the crime.
