The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted after the publication of the study by the International Institute for Middle East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES), which analyzes human rights standards and the functioning of justice in Albania, with a special focus on his case.

In his reaction, Meta thanks IFIMES for what he describes as an in-depth, transparent and objective analysis, emphasizing that the study clearly reflects the degradation of the rule of law in the country.

"I thank IFIMES for the in-depth and very objective transparency, which makes this case meaningful and which presents without any equivocation the total degradation of the rule of law and the use of justice as an extension of the narco-power to persecute and isolate political opponents ," Meta said.

He adds that, in his opinion, these are failed efforts not only of those who, as he says, undertake these actions, but also of those who "turn a blind eye" to the situation.

At the end of the reaction, Ilir Meta expresses his conviction that democracy will triumph: " Democracy will absolutely win because we are determined at any cost for its triumph!"
