Pirated app “One IPTV Player” shuts down, removed from Google Play

Another application that offered unauthorized access to Albanian television packages and channels has been shut down.

Following the request of the Audiovisual Media Authority, “One IPTV Player” has been removed from the Google Play Store. According to the AMA, the decision was made after a verification process by inspection teams, due to the violation of broadcasting rights and at the institution’s request to the platform.

The application illegally broadcasted Digitalb, Tring, RTSH and TV Klan packages, as well as sports packages with exclusive broadcasting rights, constituting a case of unauthorized distribution of audiovisual content on the internet.

Previously, a similar application, Kanali im, which offered a wide range of media content, from television channels, feature films, sports and reality shows, including "Big Brother VIP Albania", was closed at the request of the AMA, which continues to monitor the digital space and report platforms and websites that distribute television channels and programs without permission, with the aim of protecting broadcasting rights and Albanian audiovisual productions.
