The wife and mother of the businessman and friend of Prince William, who died of a heart attack after "swallowing a bee", are now in a "fight" over his £2.7 billion fortune.

Indian billionaire Sunjay Kapur , 53, died in front of his friends during a match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor on June 12.

It is believed that Kapur was stung in the mouth by a bee, which caused him to have an allergic reaction and then a fatal heart attack.

The businessman was heir to a car parts giant founded by his father and worth £2.7 billion.

His death has since plunged the automobile empire, which is one of the most respected in India, into a bitter succession battle.

Now his third wife, Priya Sachdev, is at loggerheads with his mother, Rani Kapur, who is supported by daughters Mandhira Kapur Smith and Superna Kapur Motwane.

The 80-year-old mother, who was the former president of the company, claimed she was forced to relinquish control of her son's company just days after his death.

In a letter she wrote to the board on July 24, she also questioned the circumstances of her son's death.

He also accused those within the company of exploiting the family's grief to "control" Sona Comstar.

Sandchev was appointed a non-executive director at the company's annual general meeting on July 25, a day after Kapoor's letter was reportedly submitted to the board.

The widow has yet to speak publicly about the allegations made by her late husband's family.

However, her office shared the coroner's report, which confirmed that her husband had died of natural causes following his mother's previous claims.
