A Prison Police employee has died as a result of a road accident that occurred this Wednesday afternoon in the village of Lumalas, on the Korça-Maliq axis.

The victim has been identified as Krenar Çekiçi, 45 years old, who was unable to survive the injuries he sustained, passing away in the Korça hospital, despite the assistance provided by doctors.

He was a prison police employee at the Drenova Prison.

According to preliminary information, a vehicle traveling from Korça to Maliq had stopped on the right side of the road to cross to the other side, with the signal on.

At that moment, another vehicle coming in the same direction first hit the vehicle in front of it and then the stopped "Benz" vehicle, where the 45-year-old was.

Police are working to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
