The moment of arrest

The police have issued an official announcement regarding the arrest of the much-wanted Ani Begaj, 27 years old, sentenced to 35 years in prison in absentia for the Çole Massacre, an event recorded in April 2015, when after a fight in the casino they were killed citizens Albi Limaj, Haki Rakipi and Ardi Velaj.

Ani Begaj is handcuffed together with his cousin Elton Begaj. They were driving a Nissan type vehicle. They did not stop the police in Lungomare, but after being chased by the blue uniforms, they stopped in an alley in the Independence neighborhood of Vlora.

His cousin was armed with a firearm, a pistol, which was seized by the Police, along with the "Nissan" type vehicle.

The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Vlora Judicial District Court, for further action.

In relation to the Çola Massacre, Aleksandër Llanaj was sentenced to life imprisonment, while Ani Begaj and Bertil Aliaj were sentenced to 35 years in prison in absentia.
