The family members of 27-year-old Jani Rustemi, who died yesterday after more than a month in a coma, came out today in protest in front of the Ministry of Justice.

They claim that the young man was brutally beaten by police officers and demand justice for their son who fell into a coma after being arrested by the police on April 12 for stealing a carpet and a pair of sneakers.

The father of the deceased accuses the state, while the mother says that her son did not suffer from any disease, while today she saw that he had broken teeth and a blackened ear.

"My suspicions are that he was killed by the state. I don't know that no one is giving me answers about who killed my son and that person should be held responsible. We also have doubts, we want justice. He died from violence." said his father.

"I have my son behind me like an apple seed, and they brought me in a coffin. I want my son's justice. He did not suffer from any kind of illness. I checked the boy, he had a broken tooth, a black ear, and the police wouldn't let me check him at the hospital ," said the victim's mother.
