False bomb threats were made at several polling places in the United States this Tuesday, the FBI reported.

According to US media reports, the fake threats were made via e-mail and likely originated from Russia.

"None of the threats have been determined to be credible at this time," the FBI said in a statement, adding that election integrity was among the bureau's highest priorities.

At least two polling stations targeted by fake bomb threats in the election battleground state of Georgia were briefly evacuated this November 5.

Two polling places in Fulton County reopened after about 30 minutes, officials said, and the county is seeking a court order to extend voting hours after 7 p.m. because of the suspension.

Georgia Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger blamed Russian interference for the "bomb hoaxes" on Election Day.

“They're in bad shape, it seems. They don't want us to have peaceful, fair and accurate elections, and if they can make us fight among ourselves, they can count that as a victory," Raffensperger told reporters.
