The decision of the European Court of Human Rights (Strasbourg) on the case of Kastriot Ismailaj has been made public.
Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha reports that Strasbourg has evaluated the way Albanian justice has judged his assets, and has requested that the former businessman be compensated.
The decision has already been published in the Official Gazette.
In the decision secured by journalist Anila Hoxha, the applicants sought a sum of 45,000 euros (15,000 euros each) for non-pecuniary damage, alleging stress, uncertainty and loss of procedural opportunity due to the legal proceedings in Albania.
The Court decided to award the applicants a total of 3,500 euros for non-pecuniary damage, plus any applicable tax.
Meanwhile, another of his cases, the one related to the request to overturn the 11-year prison sentence, was dismissed by the Constitutional Court two weeks ago and has not yet been filed in Strasbourg.
