The 53-year-old man sentenced in Italy to 19 years of imprisonment was arrested

A 53-year-old declared wanted internationally was arrested in Vlora by the blue uniforms after the exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and the Italian Interforce Office in Albania.

Lorenc Kapllani alias Lorenc Sadikaj, a resident of Vlora, has fallen into custody. He was arrested in the neighborhood "10 Korriku".

The 53-year-old was sentenced by the Court of Appeal of Catania to 19.6 years of imprisonment, of which 16 years, 6 months and 24 days remain to be served. Lorenc Kapllani was found guilty of drug trafficking and criminal organization.

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, continues the procedures for the extradition of the 53-year-old to Italy.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
