Three employees of the  Kuçova Police Station  have been suspended from duty after a video was published on social media, showing them forcibly dragging a person in the village of Krekëz.

Specifically, we are talking about inspectors  Kastriot Meçani  and  Dashnor Dino, officers of the General Patrol, as well as inspector Afrim Muka , assistant specialist (SPZ).

It is reported that a disciplinary investigation has been ordered against them for the violations of "illegal and unreasonable use of force" and "Committing actions that seriously harm the image of the police officer, the institution or the police service as a whole . "

The Blues also indicate that the arrest of citizen Dashnor Toska was not made for an unauthorized construction, but due to a report made by his sister-in-law for intimidation.

According to the police, on July 20, citizen VT filed a report that she was threatened by Dashnor Toska.

As a result, on August 3, officers went to the village of Krekëz to escort the person in question to the police, after he refused to voluntarily turn himself in. The statement also states that the conflict between them is over a piece of land.

Police Announcement:

Reaction of the General Directorate of the State Police. In relation to a video published on social networks, which shows the escorting of a citizen by the police officers of the Kuçovë Police Commissariat, the General Director of the State Police, Senior Director Madhor Skender Hita, has immediately suspended from duty the 3 employees of the Kuçovë Police Commissariat who appear in the video, specifically: inspectors KM and DD, officers of the General Patrol, as well as inspector AM, assistant specialist (SPZ).

Also, the General Director of the State Police, in accordance with the requirements of the law "On the State Police" and the State Police Regulation, has ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards, at the DPPSH, to initiate a disciplinary investigation against 3 employees suspended from duty, for the violations of "Illegal and unreasonable use of force" and "Committing actions that seriously harm the image of the Police employee, the institution or the police service as a whole."

Meanwhile, we clarify to the public that the escort of citizen DT, who appears in the video, was not done for carrying out construction work without a permit, but because a report was filed against him for threatening his sister-in-law.

On 20.07.2026, the sister-in-law of citizen DT, citizen VT, appeared at the Kuçova Police Station, reporting that this citizen had threatened her.

As part of the procedural actions carried out by the Kuçova Police Station and after consultation with the Berat Prosecutor's Office, on 03.08.2026, the Police services went to the village of Krekëz to accompany citizen DT, who had refused to voluntarily appear at the Police Station, after being notified by the Police, to be questioned in his capacity as a person under investigation.

Following the actions in the case, the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, for the criminal offense of "Threat", provided for by Article 84 of the Criminal Code.

Given that the parties are in a conflict situation and in legal proceedings over a property (land), the Kuçova Police Commissariat has continuously addressed the issue between them, with the aim of preventing the situation from escalating, by reacting to every notification and carrying out procedural actions in accordance with the law.

The General Directorate of the State Police guarantees citizens that any claim of violation of the law or professional standards by Police employees will be verified seriously and impartially.

Any Police officer who is found to have violated the law, service rules, or violated the trust of citizens with his actions will be held accountable according to the provisions of the law and the State Police Regulation.
