Activist Arbër Lleshi, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, has spoken out about police violence following the protests at the Albanian Parliament.
Lleshi said he was hit by a civilian in a police car, while he was handcuffed, and the officers in the vehicle did nothing.
"They took me and laid me on the ground. We were punched 30-40 times, hit with sticks. Then a civilian came up to me and said we were going to tape my mouth shut. I asked him who you are, what kind of power do you claim to have. We are dealing with a gangster like that. A civilian in a police vehicle. I was handcuffed, I was punched about 30 times in the face.
The State Police allows this, I told the two police officers who were there and they kept quiet. At the police station I told the officers, someone raped me in the police car, the answer was to endure it.
I told them they punched me while I was handcuffed, it's torture. I asked for medical help, for four hours straight, no one put water on the fire. After all this, they signed a report, even though they had no evidence.
They said you were filmed throwing hard objects at the police, I tell them where this evidence is. We will give it to the prosecutor, they said. The police function as a tool of repression.
I also said in the courtroom that in addition to the court that must deal with violent individuals in the State Police, the institution also has the obligation to isolate violent police officers and prosecute them for violence.
I will follow it until the end. I don't know if it's all the footage, but 2-3 videos have been released in the media. We will collect them all.
I asked the civilian who you are. He told me I'm a gangster of gangsters, to shut my mouth with tape. What will the prime minister with stained glasses say to us about this?
"We've been there for four days, they've kept us in detention rooms in miserable conditions. They've confiscated our phone. We've made a request," Lleshi said, among other things.
