The former director of Lushnja prison is arrested

Lushnja police have handcuffed the former director of Lushnja prison, Judmir Shurdhi. The 43-year-old man was wanted by the authorities after the Special Court sentenced him to 1 year and 4 months in prison for violating equality and participating in cooperative tenders.

"This citizen, in the period 2020-2021, during which he was the director of the Kosovo prison, Lushnjë, in cooperation with other citizens, committed actions that constitute a violation of the equality of participation in tenders or public events," the police announced.

SPAK's investigation against him and several other officials concerned two tenders, for the transport service of basic role employees and uniformed employees.

According to SPAK, Judmir Shurdhi, in the capacity of the holder of the contracting authority, has assigned the same persons to be a member of the Procurement Unit and the Bid Evaluation Commission, has approved the legal violations committed by them, both in 2018 and also in 2019, as well as exerting pressure on his subordinates in 2019 for the qualification of the VK natural person operator.
