The 30-year-old mother , who gave birth to her baby in a basement of a building in Yzberisht , risks 3-10 years in prison , after she abandoned her and unfortunately, the baby died.

Some residents of the building have confirmed the news published by VoxNews , that the baby was attacked and found bitten. They told VoxNews that the baby was attacked by a mouse and that the baby's body had turned purple.

In her testimony, she stated that she was ashamed to bear a child as she was unmarried and lived in miserable conditions.

According to the security cameras in the area where she abandoned the child, it can be seen that the 30-year-old woman acted alone, however, investigations are still ongoing.

Today, the measure of arrest was communicated to him as he is accused of the criminal offense of abandoning the child, which, in light circumstances, is subject to a fine of up to 3 years in prison.

While in aggravating circumstances, such as that of seriously harming the child, or causing death, a sentence of 3 to 10 years in prison is provided.

It is expected that the prosecution will come out with a notice of the accusation that will be communicated to the 30-year-old.

The Tirana police said they arrested the 30-year-old woman with the initials EI, who allegedly abandoned her baby in a basement in Tirana. The newborn male baby died this morning in the hospital.

Following the information provided yesterday, regarding the finding of a newborn baby in the basement of a building in Yzberisht, we inform you that:

Crime Investigation Specialists of the Police Station No. 6 have arrested the citizen EI, 30 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense " Abandonment of minor children ".

Yesterday, the Police services, together with the medical staff, sent the baby abandoned by this citizen to the hospital, but despite the immediate help provided by the Police services and the medical staff, the baby died today.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further actions.
