The Tirana Prosecution Office is seeking the confiscation of over 2.5 million euros in assets belonging to citizen Ndue Gjergji (deceased) and his family.

These assets are reported to be 'derived from criminal activity'. The subject of the investigation, according to the prosecution, died in 2020, following an assassination attempt.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, filed a request for the confiscation of at least 2.5 million euros of assets of citizen N.Gj. who died in 2020 as a result of a firearm assassination attempt and of his family members, after it was proven that they are related to and stem from criminal activity.

In the framework of the investigations into property proceedings no. 03, of 2023, in charge of this citizen, it resulted that the deceased was part of a criminal group whose main area of ​​criminal activity was the criminal offense of 'Trafficking in narcotics' provided for by article 283 of the Criminal Code.

The Prosecutor's Office proved that citizen N.Gj. was under investigation in the Netherlands for the criminal offense of 'Money Laundering', while he had previously been arrested and convicted for drugs in Italy. From the analysis of the facts and the documentation administered, regarding the assets of citizen N.Gj. and his family members, it resulted that they have an unjustified economic level and it is suspected that they have acquired the 13 immovable properties as a result of criminal activity.

Based on the above, the prosecution assessed that the assets of him and his family members meet the criteria provided for by Article 11 of Law No. 10192 dated 03.12.2009 "On the prevention and suppression of organized crime, trafficking and corruption through preventive measures against property", as there is a reasonable suspicion that citizen N. Gj, has been involved in the criminal activity of the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Money laundering".

For this reason, the prosecution requests the confiscation and transfer to the state ownership of the following assets:
1. Apartment with an area of ​​87.30 m2;
2. Apartment with an area of ​​87.30 m2;
3. Apartment with an area of ​​87.30 m2;
4. Garage with an area of ​​15.00 m2;
5. Garage with an area of ​​15.00 m2;
6. Garage with an area of ​​15.00 m2;
7. Garage with an area of ​​15.00 m2,;
8. Apartment with an area of ​​617.84 m2;
9. Apartment with an area of ​​87.30 m2;
10. Unit with an area of ​​45.21 m2;
11. Garage with an area of ​​15 m2;
12. Garage with an area of ​​15 m2; and
13. Apartment with an area of ​​99.70 m2.
