A young man in Saranda was sent to prison for selling cocaine to a minor.

The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda has imposed the security measure of "prison arrest" on citizen OL, who is under investigation for selling narcotics to a minor.

The Saranda Prosecution Office informs that criminal proceedings against OL were registered on May 18, 2025, with the charge of the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics", according to Article 283/1 of the Criminal Code.

According to preliminary investigations, OL is suspected of selling cocaine to a minor, who developed health problems after consuming it.

The security measure was executed on May 26 in Tirana, where the suspect was detained by the Police structures, while on May 27, the Prosecution requested verification of the legal conditions and the continuation of the measure.

The court, in the session held on Wednesday, decided to leave the security measure "prison arrest" in force, keeping OL in custody for the continuation of the investigation.

The Saranda Prosecutor's Office emphasizes that the case poses a high social risk, due to the involvement of a minor and narcotics, and will continue the investigation to fully document the event.
