In a statement to the media, the General Director of Police, Skënder Hita, provided explanations regarding the video of several underage girls who were shown physically raping their peers in the city of Fier.

Hita said that one of the girls had a repeat offense and was arrested.

"It is a serious video where several minors are seen committing violent acts. Procedural actions were carried out and then during the investigative actions that were continuously carried out together with the prosecution, criminal prosecutions continued. One of the girls had a repeated case and was arrested. For a police officer, we have taken the measure of dismissal from duty after he had committed inappropriate actions against a colleague."

Regarding the suspension of the police officer, Hita said that he seriously damaged the image of the police after intervening unnecessarily.

"The police officer involved in the Fier case was not identified as having released the video, his suspension was ordered for violating the standard and serious damage to the image of police officers on duty after he entered into an unnecessary relationship with girls who had committed an illegal act with another minor," Hita declared.
