"The whole mountain of Shengjin is on fire", the deputy of Lezha tells
Fires in Shengjin

The whole mountain of Shengjin is on fire, says the deputy of the PD in Lezhë, Lindita Metaliaj, as she shared the tragic images from the scene.

She says that the residents have already been evacuated, as well as the businesses, while she blames the authorities for not acting in time.

The fire has engulfed the crown of pines in the center of Shengjin.

"Near the homes and businesses, the entire mountain of Shengjin is on fire. Residents have been evacuated, businesses have been evacuated. It is a tragic situation. We only see a helicopter trying to bucket.

This fire has been burning for 72 hours and measures should have been taken. But now the situation has gotten out of control. The fire is adjacent to the apartments, in the center of Shengjin", says Metaliaj.
