Sentenced to 9 years for the rape of an Albanian girl, Brazil does not accept

In 2013, while playing for Milan in Italy, Robinho was part of a group of at least six people who raped an Albanian girl who was celebrating her 23rd birthday in a discotheque.

In 2019, the Italian court found the former footballer guilty, sentencing him to nine years in prison.

A measure which the Brazilian has avoided (at least for the moment) after returning to his homeland, while on the other hand, a month ago, Italy demanded the extradition of the 38-year-old to serve the punishment he deserved according to the law.

However, recently, even officially, Brazil has denied Robinho's return to Italy, as the Latin American country does not have a law for the extradition of its citizens. However, Italy has the right to request that the nine-year prison sentence be applied in Brazil.

It is worth noting that Robinho has never accepted the accusation of rape, claiming that everything about that evening in 2013 was done with the approval of the Albanian girl herself, while his only regret is that he was not faithful to his wife.
