A sensational news comes from Italy. At the time when the AFL denied it about a month ago, now across the Adriatic they insist that Gigi Di Biagio will be the new coach of Albania. The Italian coach has an offer from Cosenza, but seems to have made a promise that he prefers to keep. What is it about? According to Sportitalia, the former Spal technician is close to closing the agreement with the Albanian Federation to take Edy Reja's bench as coach of Albania.

The contacts have been ongoing for weeks, but now there is a tipping point with the final agreement that appears to have been found. If the words coming from ITASporpress.it are confirmed, the former U21 coach would face Roberto Mancini's national team on November 16 in Tirana.

At this point, it remains only to wait for further developments and official communications from the persons directly involved. As mentioned, Di Biagio's last experience in charge of a team was at Spal. Experience which ended in 2020. After two years, therefore, a possible new beginning for him. Edoardo Reja's contract with the red and black national team ends in November. The parties have always said that they will do a work balance, but apparently the decision has been made.
