The victim of the explosion yesterday evening in the port of the city of Saranda has been identified.

The victim is citizen Armandi Nelaj, 52 years old, resident of Saranda. It is learned that Nelaj was the owner of a company with heavy machinery for digging and transport of inerts.

Initially, it was suspected that he died after the explosion of the oxygen cylinder while he was diving into the sea, but the possibility that he was assassinated with tritol is not excluded.

The investigative team suspects that the explosives could have been placed in the boat where it was located. These suspicions arose after during the inspection of the waters by the divers, metal fragments were found that are thought to belong to the vehicle where Armandi Nelaj was, but the police have not yet officially confirmed the assassination track.
