Lost in Grama Bay, police rescue 2 Canadian tourists at midnight

Two Canadian tourists who had lost their way during a hike in Karaburun were rescued yesterday evening by the Dhërmi Border Police, after a search and rescue operation in difficult conditions.

The incident occurred around 23:00, when the operations room of the Vlora Local Directorate for Border and Migration received notification that two foreign citizens had been separated from their group and had lost their orientation in the mountainous area near Grama Bay.

Immediately, Dhërmi Border Police officers set off by boat towards the scene and began searching the difficult terrain, moving on foot in complete darkness.

At around 24:00, the two tourists were located and found to be in good health. They were safely escorted to Grama Bay, where they were reunited with their group.
