They have identified/ Foreign authorities are searching for criminal assets in

Foreign authorities that have identified Albanian criminal groups in their countries, mainly involved in drug trafficking, are seeking the seizure of assets they have created in our country.

During 2024, at the request of the Belgian and German prosecution, SPAK registered 5 property investigations.

Meanwhile, in addition to the verifications, SPAK has seized on behalf of foreign authorities, Belgium and Italy, several assets identified as belonging to persons arrested and convicted in the respective countries.

So far, they include 6 real estate properties, over 145 thousand euros in cash and bank accounts, as well as cars.

They are under the administration and management of the Seized Assets Management Agency and only after a confiscation decision is made will the authorities have to determine what happens to them.

Through letters of inquiry, foreign authorities appear to have accurately identified these assets, the economic activities of the persons under investigation and their relatives in Albania.

On the other hand, SPAK says that after imposing the seizure, it has requested ongoing information about criminal proceedings there in order to make a decision on the fate of the property investigation in our country.
