While visiting Edison Adri, the seriously injured officer at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, Police Chief Skënder Hita also made a public reaction to the incident where officer Enea Mekolli also lost his life in the line of duty.

He expressed his pain for this loss, while explaining that the perpetrator of the crime, Violand Braçellari, was also injured during the action, is in Korça hospital, arrested and is expected to be transported to Tirana for treatment.

"We lost a wonderful colleague, a father, a dedicated family member and the State Police lost its servant, its employee in the service of citizens. Another police officer is seriously injured and is receiving medical attention. The wanted person who was surrounded for his neutralization and capture is also injured and is in the Korça hospital," said Hita.

In the end, he explained that he was very moved by what had happened and speechless, an event about which he added that he did not want to be in front of the media.

"It's truly one of those events that leaves you speechless and where I wouldn't want to be in front of you today," he said.
