An elderly woman from Pogradec, who had worked for 25 years as a nurse, cannot receive a pension because her payments list was torn.

With tears in her eyes, the elderly woman confesses that it has been 10 years since she retired, but she has not received any money for the years of work she has done, while she confessed that she lives with her husband for only 70 thousand old money.

To the ABC, she says she is up to her neck in debt after going to court to claim her rights, paying lawyers but failing to secure what she is owed. This is because it is stated that the documents with the years of work that were kept in Pogradec were burned, losing all the data.

"I want to solve the problem that we are doing 10 years without a pension. With 70 thousand ALL per month. I am also sick with diabetes. It doesn't matter who has their problems. Deep in debt. Social security pulled them from Korça and collected them.

They also found me a lawyer. They wanted social security as a pretext and then took me to court. I changed lawyers three times. I was once told to miss four years. I did the trial for them. I cannot get a lawyer because I have nothing to pay with. I don't want a lawyer anymore, but I want some kind of help from the state. I have my workbook here in social security. They also took my files. They didn't even bother to come and ask for the file. I had three witnesses there, including my work colleagues. I had two work colleagues and the village chief. They didn't deny it at all",  she says, unable to hold back her tears.

Her sister-in-law also tells the drama of the elderly woman who, many years ago, lost a son at the age of 29.

"It's difficult because we don't have a pension. We have nothing. This is 10 years old, he is 70 years old, without a pension. She has been a nurse in Pogradec for 25 years. He did all those trials with lawyers and all. It was concluded that he would receive his pension, they told him where are the pay slips. Payrolls there are burned. We don't know where to turn. In conclusion, nothing. A 29-year-old boy died. I know what they call 10 years without a pension. They eat bread only once a day, because I have been to their house. When there is a knock at my door, I tell my husband that they came to ask for money,"  she says.
