The Civil Guard of Almeria in Spain has cracked down on an Albanian drug trafficking network headquartered in Roquetas de Mar.

The action resulted in the arrest of 3 people who had previous convictions for similar criminal offenses in the United Kingdom and Kosovo, where they had even been convicted.

The investigation, carried out in two phases, led to the dismantling of a marijuana plantation in Las Tres Villas, in the Sierra de los Filabres natural area and in Felix.

Armed Forces agents found two "hidden" plantations in areas with difficult terrain and far from populated centers.

They also had video surveillance cameras and electrified perimeter fences covering the cultivated land.

Due to the complexity of the areas, which made the extraction operation difficult, Civil Guard officers requested logistical support from the Air Service (SAER) to extract the plants using a hanging anchor with 1,000-liter bags.

They ultimately found 300 kilograms of cannabis, worth over half a million euros.

At the same time, all three houses were entered and searched, and all three individuals were arrested. They have now been taken into custody by the Court of First Instance and Investigation No. 2 of Almeria.

In one building, they found an underground structure that was being converted into an indoor plantation. They found high-powered LED lights, bags of plant substrate, and various materials used for this type of cultivation.

This action is part of the ongoing work carried out by the Civil Guard in the fight against drug trafficking, cultivation and production, as well as electricity fraud in the province of Almería.

Territorial units, the Civil Security Unit, the Dog Service and the Command Service Core participated in this operation, carried out by the Civil Guard Command in Almeria, with the support of the Civil Guard Air Service (SAER).
