Laert Haxhiu, much wanted by Albanian justice, will be sent to the Koridhalos prison in Greece until the review of the documentation file for his extradition.

This is what the Ioannina court decided in the session on the security measure that it held today.

Until the review of the extradition file by the Albanian authorities, Laert Haxhiu will remain in the Koridhalo prison.

The 31-year-old's lawyers stated that Haxhiu does not accept any charges for which he was sentenced in Albania to 18 years in prison for the Lushnja massacre. According to the lawyers, Laert Haxhiu does not want to be extradited to Albania and wants to stay in Greece. 

The case will go to the Appellate Board competent to decide for or against extradition and then to the Supreme Court.

As for 35-year-old Juxhin Bajrami, the court of Ioannina decided to release him without any measure of security, even though he is accused of "assistance in illegal crossing of the border", "disobedience to the police order", "forgery of documents" and "false testimony". .

The court of Ioannina was armed with increased security forces during the court session as a security measure against two Albanians.
