The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime has decided to overturn the previous decision in the case against former MP Alqi Bllako and return the file for trial to another panel within the same court.
The GJKKO had sentenced Bllako to 4 years in prison, a sentence which was reduced by the summary trial to 2.8 years.
The panel of judges, composed of Judges Saida Dollani (presiding), Miliana Muça and Tereza Merkaj, reviewed the appeal filed by the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, as well as the appeal of the defendant himself, regarding decision no. 22, dated 11.03.2025, issued by the First Instance of the GJKKO.
In conclusion, the Appeals Court overturned the First Instance decision, ordering the documents to be sent for retrial to another panel of the same court.
