Merel Bos is the Dutch tourist who lost her life today in Filikuri Bay in the south of the country.

The 23-year-old Dutch citizen, who was in the company of her friends, accidentally slipped while her friend was holding her hand, but she couldn't and slipped, falling from a height of about 30 meters.

Emergency services were immediately notified.

The Himara Police, Border Police, Firefighters, and an ambulance intervened at the scene, which made it possible to extract the lifeless body from the difficult rocky area.

Unfortunately, the young woman did not survive the injuries she sustained, and the 18-year-old also suffered injuries from falling rocks but is out of danger.

She was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.

Tourists present in the area were helped to leave safely, while authorities have launched investigations to uncover the full circumstances of the incident.

Filikurit Bay is one of the beaches frequented by tourists in the Vlora area, which can only be reached by rappelling down through the rocks.
