Eight counties in the country will face a high risk of wildfires this weekend, with temperatures expected to reach up to 39 degrees Celsius.
The warning comes from the Institute of Geosciences through the Hazard Bulletin, which emphasizes that atmospheric conditions favor the spread of flames, especially in the Western Lowlands.
According to the institute, the regions most exposed to the risk are Lezha, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Gjirokastra and Vlora. Meanwhile, in Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër and Korçë the risk is assessed as lower, but in some specific areas it is also expected to be high.

Meanwhile, the Media and Information Agency reports that the fires in Dajt and Priska have been completely extinguished. Meanwhile, in several other regions, interventions by local structures and the Armed Forces are continuing to control the situation. In the Çikalleshi area in Kavajë and in Mallakastër, the flames have been isolated and the situation appears to be under control.
Even in Plan i Bardhë in Klos, authorities report that the situation has stabilized. In Kostren 2 in Berat and in Uruç in Peqin, the fires have been extinguished after the intervention of operational forces.
Meanwhile, in Alikomemaj, Memaliaj, work continues to extinguish a still active fire.
Authorities emphasize that operations will continue until all fire sources are finally neutralized.
