Investigative journalist Artan Hoxha has published for the first time a photo of Sokol Sinomati, known by the nickname "Buzëderri", whose 23-year-old son, Gëzim Sinemati, was executed with a sniper on the evening of January 7, on the balcony of his apartment in the city of Vlora.
Sokol Sinomati was part of the "Gaxhai" gang in 1997 in Vlora, as he appears in the photo together with the other accused of this gang in the Court of Tirana in 1999.
"This is Sokol Sinomati in the dock with the Gaxhai gang in 1999 in the Court of Tirana", writes Artan Hoxha briefly in the photo published on social networks.
His father attends the funeral
Revenge is the main track where the investigative group is focused on solving the murder of 23-year-old Gëzim Sinomati. This Tuesday, the young man was escorted to his last residence, in an armored funeral ceremony with numerous police forces, as his father, Sokoli, who is currently serving a sentence in Fushë Kruja prison, was also present.
INVESTIGATIONS
Two days after the murder of the 23-year-old Gëzim Sinomati in Vlorë, the police and the prosecutor's office still haven't tracked down the perpetrators. The investigations carried out up to this stage have raised suspicions that the young man executed by a sniper on Sunday evening in the "Hajro Çakërri" neighborhood in Vlora, may have been killed by mistake.
According to them, the possibility that the target of this mafia assassination was his uncle, Benard Sinomati, is not excluded. The latter was together with the victim in the apartment where the young man was shot, who had returned from Belgium, where he lives, a few days ago.
The 23-year-old was in the interior of the apartment near the glass window, which he had lowered a little to circulate the smoke of the cigarette he was consuming. According to the investigators, the lack of lighting on the road may have influenced the confusion of the target by the shooter.
The suspicion created by the police and the prosecution comes because the uncle of the victim was also the target of a tritol attack in January 2021, where his car was blown up with explosives in the Hajro Çakërri neighborhood.
Extinction of the chuna of Belgium
But the authorities do not exclude the murder with motives of the recent conflicts in Belgium, for a stolen amount of cocaine, where two people were killed during the last months.
During the last few years, the "Belgium gang" has been attacked several times and counts 6 missing or missing members between 2014-2016. Also, 4 members of this gang were killed in assassinations that occurred in 2019-2020, including Sunday's event.
While the perpetrators of this murder are suspected to be at least 3 people, investigators suspect that they were hired killers. In order not to leave any traces, they used a car with duplicate license plates of a vehicle in the Kamza area, and they took care to extinguish any evidence by burning the car in an area without security cameras.
